Keyword Domains

Keyword domains are likely to be the strongest names in the future of the Internet. They have several positive advantages and one strong disadvantage. The disadvantage is that they are probably going to be longer names than many that are out there. The advantages are that they identify exactly what you are in business for.

Whatever type of business you are in, your customers know you for what you produce. For Instance, I am in the screw machine industry. Good names for my line of work are fasteners, customfasteners, brassfittings, nozzles, screwmachineproducts, cableconnectors and many others that my potential customers might look for when looking for a supplier. A few names that I have are CustomScrew.com, BrassFitting.com, ScrewMachinist.com and AluminumSpacers.com

These are almost all generic terms that are not trademarks. Few people owns the rights to such names, so they can be bought by anyone.

Most keyword domains will consist of an adjective or two followed by a noun. That is like goldcharts.com, gold is the adjective or descriptive and charts is the noun or topic.

Regardless of the keyword domains that you choose, be certain to get the singular and plural of the name. It may also be wise to get the same names with a dash beween words.

Selecting a keyword domain without a dash is good for advertising (ScrewMachinist.com). These are the ways that people like to type in a name that they heard on the radio. Search engines may prefer a domain with a dash (Screw-Machinist.com), but not always.
