We are
pleased to offer anodizing and alodine coatings (aka; iridite and
Chemfilm) for our spacers.
The 6061 Aluminum that
most of our spacers are made of is the most resistant to corrosion
of the readily available materials, but it is subject to corrosion
over a long period of time, especially if it is exposed to salt and
humidity.
Alodine Coating is an
inexpensive chemical treatment added to the outside of the spacers
that provides protection against corrosion. The cost is about
$70 to process 10 lbs of spacers.
Anodizing is another
chemical process that provides the best resistance to corrosion.
This process also adds a hardness to the surface of the spacer.
The process can turn a nice looking spacer into a beautiful spacer.
It is available in 12 different colors. This process is a more
expensive process that ranges from 20¢ each to 32¢ depending on the
quantity ordered, with a minimum charge of $65.00.
We do not look to profit
from these processes, but rather look to gain your purchase of our
spacers. We add a small amount to cover shipping to and from
the plater and to ensure that we don't pay the plater more than
we've charged you. If you wish us to get this process done for
you, then make your purchase of that process here on this page along
with your spacers. We'll take care of everything and you'll
have your spacers in hand in about 10-11 business days. It
takes 7-8 days to get the spacers processed and returned to us.
Please be aware that
once these have been coated or anodized, you can not be refunded for
that process in the event of a return. Our return policy still
stands, but only for the cost of the unprocessed spacers.
If you wish to get this
process done yourself from our plater,
Stabile Plating, you are
quite welcome to do so. You would probably save a few dollars
doing so. We can ship your order directly to them if you enter
their address as your "Ship to" address in your checkout process.
You would be entirely liable for your purchase once the tracking on
the shipment shows that it has arrived safely.
You would need to call
them and arrange the proper coating or anodizing that you require
and also arrange for them to ship your finished spacers to you.
Again, we will do this
all for you and we'll ship your finished product to you in 7-8
business days after purchase if you make your purchase of anodize or
alodine here.
